Do We remove teeth Before placing All-On-4 dental implants in Washington, DC?
If you have damaged or broken teeth, Dr. Pashapour and his surgical team can extract these teeth so that you can receive All-On-4® dental implants. Additionally, some patients may have lost all but 1 or 2 teeth of their upper or lower jaw. Instead of applying dental implants to each missing tooth, we can remove these last few teeth in order to place All-On-4® dental implants. All-On-4® dental implant surgery can only be performed when all of the teeth of the lower or upper jaw are removed. For this reason, All-On-4® dental implants are ideal for patients who are missing the majority of their teeth.
What should I expect during my All-On-4 dental implant surgery?
All-On-4® dental implants can replace your missing teeth in just 1 visit to our Washington, DC oral surgery office. The details of your All-On-4® dental implant surgery will be discussed in detail with our oral surgeon prior to the day of your surgery.
To begin your All-On-4® dental implant procedure, we will remove any loose, damaged, or unhealthy teeth. Dr. Pashapour and his surgical team will then place 4 anchorage screws into the gumline and jawbone. These anchor screws will be the secure base for your All-On-4® dental implants and act like the root of your teeth, providing a strong foundation for your dental implants. In some cases, we may suggest All-On-6 dental implants, which are identical to All-On-4® dental implants except that they use 6 anchorage screws instead of 4 for additional support.
